This was an important milestone in the history of the struggle for independence of Vietnamese.
It was in that year, Hoi Cu School established at My Hoi commune. The school was simple and originally built with bamboo leaves.
After a period of operation, thank to the attention of government and the help of the leaders, the school was renamed Hoi Cu A School from 1979 to 1986.
Then it was changed the name Hoi Cu I School from 1987 to 1993.
From 1993 to 2002, it was split and called Hoi Cu A Primary School.
In school year 2002-2003, it was gotten the name of heroic woman martyr Doan Thi Nghiep.
Doan Thi Bay is the real name of Mrs. Doan Thi Nghiep. She was born in 1925 at My Hoi Commune. She took part in the revolutionary movement when she was 20 years old.
After 27 years of revolutionary activities, she has won many victories. In April, 1972, two enemy battalions attacked to the North Cai Lay district offers which was located in Phu Nhuan Commune
She was seriously injured and was arrested. Knowing she hold important positions of the arm My Tho province, they bribed, seduced, and brutally tortured in order to force her to surrender but she was disobedient and heroic sacrifice at 22 hour on April 22nd 1972 (March 9th, 1972 lunar calendar). Her tomb was placed in the Tien Giang martyr cemetery.
Nowadays, Doan Thi Nghiep Primary School is located at My Trung Hamlet, My Hoi Commune, Cai Be District, Tien Giang Province.
The school is an area of 14,633 square meters; got the surround fence, cement schoolyard.

School’s tradition is “Gratitude is the sign of noble souls”. We always visit the families of the wounded soldiers, heroic martyrs and Heroic Vietnamese Mothers. Especially, we usually visit the family of Mrs. Doan Thi Nghiep.

From April 22nd, 2006, we often exchange with Doan Thi Nghiep Secondary School at Cai Lay – her husband’s hometown.
With the continuous efforts of teachers and students, Doan Thi Nghiep Primary School has achieved the title of Advanced School for many years.

To renovate teaching method, from school year 2001-2002, we have hold professional activities of groups. All lessons have full of teaching aids.
Beside schools’ teaching aids, teachers also make more quality goods for teaching and learning.
Accessing to information technology, most teacher groups have used powerpoint to teach lessons. These classes have really inspired both teachers and students.
With a team of experienced, loving kids and job teachers and a learning tradition of student, we have achieved good results in their studies.
Besides, we also gained some achievement in various movements, such as: the first prize at the District Internet Olympic English Exam, 173 students reaching correct and beautiful writing district level and 40 students achieving the correct and beautiful writing provincial level, the first prize men athletics (distance 500 meters), the first prize tug at Phu Dong, the encouraging prize good stars, etc.

Afterwards, all students will be learning in the new school, have new friends, meet new teachers but we can’t forget tropical almond trees, phoenix trees, dear classroom and especially of the old teacher and closed friend.
